This is for law abiding citizens of Wyoming who otherwise meet the former requirements for a permit. Also, proficiency instruction is no longer required either. Hurray for Wyoming. Texas needs this too. The special session ended yesterday, June 30. Now we need to start talking to our state legislatures so during the next legislative session, in 2013, we can get this passed for Texas. I think we need to work on getting rid of Joe Straus as House Speaker too. He is just a RINO and really doesn't care about the rights of Texans. Here's the link to the article if you missed it above: http://www.laramieboomerang.com/articles/2011/06/17/news/doc4dfad54787b5b842469161.txt
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4350926797695387636.post-42180747871497487652011-04-23T13:45:00.002-05:002011-04-23T13:47:37.392-05:00Suzanna Gratia-Hupp: What the Second Amendment is REALLY For
Folks, the video below is from the 1990's and is the reason that Texas now has Concealed Carry with a permit. It is also the reason a permit should not be needed for law abiding Texans. Please view the video and pass on this link. It is very powerful!

My state senator, Dan Patrick, thinks this is a good idea because of the high profile that lawmakers carry. Well, this is reasonable reasoning. However, isn't it also reasonable reasoning to assume, that sense the thugs and thieves carry weapons without regard to the law, law abiding Texans without a felony conviction should be able to carry a weapon just because they don't want to be a victim of someone's unlawfulness! And without having to go through the process of applying for a concealed handgun license! Self defense is an unalienable right and no license should be required to carry a personal concealed weapon! Write you State Representative, State Senator, the Governor and Lt. Governor today! However, irritating lawmakers is exactly what needs to be done. I also believe there could be a special session. The Constitution Carry For Texas issue could possibly be added to the agenda then. So keep those emails, faxes, phone calls and letters going to them. Well, it can and here's how: http://www.rural-revolution.com/2011/04/greetings-from-your-friendly.html.
I propose that each and every law abiding Texan with no felony background be able to carry a concealed weapon without a permit. This is known as Constitutional Carry. If you can legally own a handgun, then you shouldn't need a permit. You're not a criminal. The 2nd amendment to our US Constitution guarantees our right to do so. Visit the initial posting of the blog for additional information.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4350926797695387636.post-89509423966516097762011-04-02T11:23:00.000-05:002011-04-02T11:23:27.641-05:00In Today's Houston Chronicle about a stabbing in Houston
In response to a comment by a Houston Chronicle reader for an article about a stabbing , bluetick, I posted this:

bluetick, individuals should arm themselves too. Governor, State Senator Dan Patrick and State Representative Jim Murphy. You are welcome to use it or create your own. Please be respectful and try to keep the message short.

Dear Lt.

Due to recent US Supreme Court decisions regarding the 2nd amendment to the US Constitution, I would like for you to help get the right for Texas citizens, who would otherwise legally qualify, to be able to carry a concealed firearm without a permit. If this requires a Texas Constitutional amendment, then please ask the legislature to get this done so it can be placed on the ballet for this fall's election in November 2011.

The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states:

As passed by the Congress:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

As ratified by the States:

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Currently, Texas has laws allowing a Texas citizen to obtain a permit, after meeting certain qualifications, to carry a concealed firearm under most conditions within Texas. One of the qualifications is that the applicant have no felony background. In order for a person in Texas to purchase a firearm, he/she must meet the same requirement, usually through a Federal instant check.

Stay tuned as I will post a sample letter that you can use to email, fax, or postal mail and also use as talking points if you should call your representative, senator and governor or lt. governor.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2
